I wasn't joking, you young whippersnapper.

The "can't save changes to multis program' was about 5 OS releases ago (OS 1.33 or sthg?)
It involved complete failure to save the Multi (you would go through the dialogue, say YES to replace existing file, the operation would complete and the asterisk would be removed from beside the file name - but the changes were not saved)
This behaviour was fixed.

Your Poly/Channel mode aftertouch thing (which is a PROGRAM level parameter, not a Multi one) was not part of that bug.
If others reproduce it though, perhaps it goes on the list
(you are using OS 1.71, yes?)

No. OS 1.71 acts too strange on my machine. Random things happen. Therefor I use 1.70.
You might as well see if this also happens on your machine... No? :? (i mean the poly/ channel bug)

I'm on OS 1.71.
I'm probably one of the few people on the planet with a PolyAftertouch midi master keyboard hooked up to an MPC4000 (Kurzweil MIDIboard) so I have sometimes set this param... haven't observed the problem of loosing the setting that you noticed yet... will double-check though.....

I have searched this forum (and some of you have a really weird way of making conversation) and I didnt find anything about this subject but I did find out the looppoints arent saved when the wav is saved for the second time. This is new for me

The poly problem I always had. Doesnt matter which OS is installed

I also read there is a huge pop when sending out CC with the qlinks and when a multitap delay is inserted in one of the fx slots :shock: :shock: I am affraid of testing this because it can result in system lock up
few.. thats two bugs in 1 day.

Aw JEEZ man, you are right!
ARRRRRRRRRRGH.

I just loaded a program up off my hard drive that I know I saved as "POLY"
aftertouch a few days ago - and it came back up as just CHANNEL!

F*CK FU*K F(*CK FICK ARRRRRRRRRRRRRSE!

/shakes fist at Akai Unprofessional Inc/

What a COMPLETE and UTTER pain in the ASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!

Well done and thank you for spotting this.

Why is it EVERY bloody obscure feature on this "flagship" machine DOESN'T ACTUALLY WORK!?!?

Did ANYONE test this shit before it left Japan?!?

I just sent to following bug report to [email protected] & [email protected] ....

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hello, I would like to report a bug in the MPC4000 OS 1.71.
From the PROGRAM mode MISC page,
on the BEND block, if I set the aftertouch TYPE field to "POLY"
(rather than "CHANNEL"), and then save the Program,
the setting is *NOT* saved.
When the Program is reloaded from the hard drive,
the TYPE field has reverted to "CHANNEL".
Interestingly,
although the POLY/CHANNEL setting is documented in the MPC4000/Z4/Z8 MIDI SysEx document (v1.50)
(Table 20, Item 49hex),
I notice this setting is ABSENT from the Ak.Sys 2.53 GUI.....
