I still cant get the 2500 to sync with Pro Tools. I put my 002 settings to master MTC and the MPC to Midi Time Code as the SLAVE. I set them both to zero and hit record play on the 002 and the MPC just sits there like hmmm.

NOTHING happens. Can you type out word for word what I should have my 002 settings on and what I should have my 2500 midi settings on? Thanks. I'll send $5.00 to your email address via paypal to do so. I need all my stuff synced because I have a project deadline and this is one of their requests. BTW I've referred to the JJ manual but cant get my 25K and 002 to work together.

Thanks fam.

Are your MIDI cables connected correctly? Meaning the MIDI OUT of the Pro Tools interface connected to the MIDI IN port of the MPC?

Sync using that OS should work fine and is pretty straight forward.

Connect the MIDI OUT of your Pro Tools interface to the MPCs MIDI IN 1.

On your MPC:
1. Enter the MPCs MIDI SYNC menu (MODE + PAD 9)
2. Set SYNC IN to SLAVE 1
3. Next, Set MODE to MIDI TIME Code

This is all you need to do to set up your MPC. But you are on your own with your Pro Tools settings since I don't use that software. However, should should be able to enter Pro Tools MIDI setup and set your preferences to send Midi Time Code to the MIDI OUTPUT which you have plugged into your MPCs MIDI INPUT 1.

Once you start Pro Tools, your MPC should start to Play.

^^
Please note that MMC is not required for the MPC sync to an incoming MTC signal nor do you need to have a MIDI OUT of the MPC to connect to the Pro Tools interface....

Generator ( what should this be? MPC 2000 or pro tools?)

Port (what should this be? MPC 2000 or pro tools?)

If you use the two versions that I referenced, you don't need to do anything else to make this work.

Also, enabling MMC on the 2500 and running a midi cable out to the PT interface IS NOT necessary to make MTC work.

Good luck!

just been doing this myself:

GO TO Setups menu, MIDI Studio and create a MPC 2000 (a preset that should also work with 2500) by clicking "create" choose manufacture and model = akai & mpc 2000 - then the Input Port and Output port on your MIDI interface.

In Pro Tools:
1) go to Setups > Peripherals > Synchronization > Generic MTC > port = DIGI 002
2) Go to MIDI -> MIDI Beat Clock -> make sure boxes for Enable MIDI Beat Clock and MPC 2000 are filled in.
3) Session setup > Frame Rate =30 and MTC to port = MPC 2000

In the MPC:
go to > MIDI Sync> - Choose either MTC or MIDI Beat clock here: MTC Frame Rate=30, MIDI Clock (stands for MIDI Beat Clock; receive MMC=off, Port 1 (There are 2 MIDI INS and 2 MIDI outs on the MPC ; VERIFY the MIDI cable going from the MIDI interface into either MIDI IN Port 1 or MIDI IN Port 2 corresponds to the Port selected on the MPC's Midi sync menu)

press PLAY on the MPC (it will wait for sync from Pro Tools)

press PLAY on Pro Tools; it will trigger the MPC 2500.

Im having problems getting the sync on point each time tho, I know there is often a delay to adjust for but the length of this delay varies for each new recording so each track has to be adjusted to different locations - annoying

do i get $5??!
