Multitrack recording

What would be a good multitrack program and hardware to use with this setup?  Compaq Presario Laptop w/ 2 USB Ports, AMD Athlon 1500xp Processer, 256k RAM (upgradeable to 1 gig) running Microsoft XP, 30 gig Harddrive,  MPC2Kxl w/ eight outs, Korg MS2000, Roland D-50 .[/color]

Hey what's up, I'm in San Diego as well. Anyhow, my friend has the 8 outs and uses Pro Tools. His name on here is Hoaxone. Ask him, he is very good with his equipment. -EVS

Yeahh, I would also like to get some info on this topic. I got the 8 out, but what would be the best way to approach multitrack recording on a rather tight budget?
