Has anybody had their hard drive go out on their MPC 1000? Was there a warning message? If it has gone out, how long did it take to fail altogether?

No drive failures here. i got a Seagate Momentus 80gb drive with a 5 yr warranty. So I'm confident that I'll get a long time out of it.
I still have an old Travelstar 6gb that works. The only reason i replaced it was because it was a bit noisey and a bit too slow (4200 rpm).

I don't know if the MPC would give an error message if a hard drive fails or not, since i havent run into that problem.

But anyway, are you having problems with your hard drive at all?
If so, what are the symptoms?

Are you sure that it died? Have you pulled it out and put it back in, incase of a loose connection. I have only had one hard drive die on me and that was because of a shipping error.

Naw, no problems. I have had mine installed for about 14 months. I think I put a Seagate 60 gig in there. I was just curious cuz I just backed up my MPC hard drive after my PC hard drive crashed recently.
