i got to thinking today that it can be possible to have more outputs....for example a new os could maybe implement that you can assing sounds to the two outputs and then you could pan a sound far left and another far right and use the stereo outs as 2 more outs...so in total you could have 4 outs to run to a mixer or whatever...of course the sounds would be in mono but i wouldn't mind......anyone here have contacts with jj or if somebody wants to feel free to email this idea to jj.peace

the best would be routing a new stereo output instead of the input..

I remember there were modifications back in the 80s that let you put individual outs in a Roland TR505, and the TR606 aswell I think. But yeah, those machines had fixed sounds. I wouldn't like to try it with the MPC500. An extra two outputs probably wouldn't be worth the trouble. You really need at least 16 to be able to use it with a mixing desk.

Ah ok, but I read somewhere that JJ won't be doing an OS for the 500.

Guys, I think you can't change inputs to outputs with software since they use different electronics.

Or has JJ done this on other MPC's?
