A while back, there was some discussion about JJ releasing an OS for the 2.5k with higher note resolution. Does anyone know if this would be possible? I've been recording at double BPM and 8/4 time signature to double notes, but the metronome at that speed is really annoying. One option for this would be to put a 1/2 click speed option in the metronome window). But then step edit is still kinda sucks in that it's broken into 8 quarter notes rather than four. I guess this is something that I can get used to, but I wonder if it would be possible to just double resolution to 192 PPQN. If higher resolution is impossible, another good option might be raising maximum BPM from 300 to 400. this way you could record in quadruple PPQN: 384 PPQN!

Post if you've got any ideas...

Hi wUnderlabs,

I hope if there is a higher resolution that it is selectable as a global option. I work in step edit a lot and changing ticks with large numbers is hard. 0, 24, 48, 72 are numbers I know, and how much shift 1 or 2 ticks makes. As long as I can continue to record and edit in 96 ppq, I wish you as much resolution as you like :)

Cheers,
B

Why? I guess I could picture this f(*&ing up all sorts of file loading from previous OSs, but give your reasons. I'd like to hear them.

believe me. it's not that hard.

and don't bother switching the Tsig to 8/4. the click in before your recording takes waaaaaaaaaay too long. i just want 4 clicks and GO GO GO

i'm so used to double res 4/4 that anytime someone sends me a project in normal single res i fking hate it and can't work on it because any time i hit record/playstart i have to take a nap before the click in is done..

A few months ago i woulda disagreed but since then ive realized that the higher res is not nessessary. Im getting more and more comfortable with the machine and 96ppq is fine. I tried my usual drum patterns on an MV8800 and the resolution difference was hardly noticeable with where im trying to take my music. Changing the resolution might **** up the machine with more bugs or even worse...lock ups.

I tried double time but it was alot harder to get the same groove/bounce into the sequencer. I could see how it would work with a more boom bap drum style.
