you wont use the 1k with the 3k... believe me. Its either one or the other. You wouldnt want to rock a Jordan on the left and Airmax on the right foot either, right? If you really want 32 mb and that 3000 sound id just use the s3000/s32000 as adviced above. It has loads of features the mp3k lacks. Like the waveform display, proper editing, keygroups, multiple programs...

Try and look for an emax. The OS is ancient, but sampletime is decent, and the sound is ill as fukc. Whatever you do, keep in mind the 1k and 3k mp models are like lightyears apart.
Also, keep storage and workflow in mind. Not everyone is lucky enough to have a functioning card reader...

Thank you for your response this really helped me.

I think I'll go for the 3000 first and if I dont adapt to it I'll get back to the 1000 + a S900 or S300.

once you get the 3ooo I doubt you'll want to go back to the 1ooo
the first thing you'll notice is the way the pads feel
now dont' get me wrong I think the 1ooo is an incredible machine
but when it comes to interface and intuitiveness
you can't beat a 6o or a 3ooo

Lol I know I won't sell it once I get one!

And I just got another question, can you use all those mpc 3000 related softwares on a mac? or is it only available for windows?
Like the program to convert wav to snd...

And is it possible to use the 3000 disks on a mac also?

Thank you

Agreed completely.mpc editor's a better option, but both let you convert wav files to snd so they are compatible with the 3000.I've got both and they both work like they should.

But what's the problem with the mac version of this software?

I have no problems with my Mac version, but I have only used it to convert files, not making programs.

ok that's nice then.

And I got 1 last question, can you format and use zip disks and floopy on mac also?

Thank you very much

i have a similar question to what primal asked. but sry, i couldn't read out a clear answer form previous posts.
i've have been looking for an mpc for some time now and i feel like im kinda going in circles right now. just dunno which one to choose. can someone help me to do a wise decision? i'm more concerned about the sound factor here
my first choice would be the 1k+s....
so you're sayin if i have a mpc1000 + s1100/s3000, i can have the sound of mpc3k? same knock for my kick and snare etc? if that's so the only thing holding me back to get this combo is the 1k's pad issue and it seems to be major. do i really need this shit to happen to me? :? 1k with JJ OS has lots of cool features tho
cause of the build of 1k i'm more and more leaning towards to mpc3000 which costs more. is it worth it? yea i know the overall feel of 3k is nice, but still. which one should i prefer?

has anyone ever compared a s1100 to s3000. sound difference? which one is punchier etc? which one would be a better choice if i go for that 1k+s.... combo? maybe someone has or has had em both

This thread kind of summed it up already.

 okay
whowhowho_ wrote:the mpc3000 costs more. is it worth it?

Of course. This is the 3k/60 forum. Everyone here thinks it is worth it. That said, you might hate it.
whowhowho_ wrote:but still. which one should i prefer?

There are lots of 3k vs(enter mpc# here) threads. Check the MPC comparison forum.

I haven't compared the two side by side, but S950's go for pennies and they 'punch' super hard.
