Ok, my first attempt at a stupid OS question:

Is it possible to loop a sequence in the mpc shorter than 1 bar, e.g. for a 1/2 or 1/4 bar ?

I mangled around with the loop function but i found nothing.

i do this often in live when making more electronic music.

that would be a neat feature.

hrmmmmmm

your best bet would be to create a new sequence and double the tempo of whatever loop you are playing on it, that would mimick having a 1/2 bar in terms of your song.

I'd have to know what you are trying to do to be able to give you more information about the options available.

Pretty much your only solution unless we are talking about something you could resample and then trigger.

change the time signature. Don't listen to the others in this thread, they don't have an idea.

If it was a loop that TS could take care of then the problem should not have existed in the first place.
That would be to obvious.
I would like to think the question was because he was using combinations of odds loops that wouldn't fit.
Then again maybe he wasn't.

doubletime would have been also a solution, but due to syncing, i'd like to keep original tempo.

Yeah, time signature can be changed to 1/4 and 2/4. :)
It works also fine with Simult Sequence and longer loops in the 2nd
sequence.

@ lithion:
i use it for more electronic sounding stuff (*cough* Minimal Techno *cough*). half or quarter bar loops have a more techy, repetitive groove and feel. but for hip hop it isn't that suited.

@ mkl:
...got it!

thanks for the help, folks
