im getting a clicking sound when i sample

hi
when i play the sound before i sample, i sounds fine but while and after i record it got clicks in it, i have turned the sample volume right down, no change.

no previous sample have the same clicking and sound as if the bit rate is low.

help

You might need to mess with the decay settings, you need to hold shift and hit the program button, go onto the params settings you should see decay on the left, but I have a 2000.

so do i do that before sample the sound to get the bitty sound away

Did you try to filter out the click with the lowpass filter? sometimes that does the trick...

well. i think its the actual mpc. because previous samples which were fine are now craclking all over the place.
how can i get around that.

is it mainly bass sounds or is it all your samples???cause if its bass sounds thats common but you shouldnt be gettin clicks on everythin you sample...if it is bass sounds do like my manz "mpc user" said and mess around with the decay a bit...pz

i sometimes get a click at the end of a sample mainly a loop for some reason. screws up some nice loops. haven't figureed it out yet, i chop the loops up on the computer, where i hear no click, then put it on the mpc and bam, click at the end. annoying.

its on every sample. when its recording the sample its bitty.

this clicking happens right at the beginning of the process, just pluging in a cd etc. thats fine, but when i record that piece its crackling.

Its the ram.

I had the same problem last year or so.

Broke ram can fruck up the samples.

I used the mpc for long time, an for the first time used more than 16 MBs on that thing, and everything that the mpc sampled into the 2nd ram module, it had pops and clicks in the sample(that were non existant in the source).

So my tip is:
Try new ram.

If your talking about clicking/crackling through the whole sample, could very well be the ram.

If you're talking about just a click at the begining could be something else. If your a newbie, typically when sampling the MPC records a short time before you actually start to sample. Be sure you move the start time of the sample to exactly where you want it to be, and be sure the start of the sample is as close to 0 as possible (middle of the graph). Then adjusting attack and filter can help as well if theres still some click.

great cheers guys i fixed it. it was the ram issue. i swapped the 2 16 mbs over and in works a treat, but because i saved the files with it crackling, i have to restart. but the sampler works fine.
