Need Help with reason!!!

k well i finally found out how 2 hook my mpc up 2 reason but when i record how do i get it 2 record in reason instead of my mpc?

How about reading your Reason manual and try posting this question on a Reason forum.

Your question is hard to answer like this, try being more specific about what you want to do!

For example, how are the MPC and Reason connected, what Reason version are you using. What are you trying to record (audio? Midi?).

Maybe midi,but i'm not so savy with that, i do know u can create a wav or aiff file then put it in one of the samplers,ie the nn-19 I prefer the nn-xt more stuff 2 play with there maybe i'm goin about it the long way but i just got my mpc yesterday so i haven't explored many options with reason.

You can't record audio into Reason. If you want to create an NN-XT instrument using samples, you have to assemble it within reason using pre recorded wav's. Reason is a self contained environment and can be sync'd up to your MPC so you can use Reason more as a rack of software synths than anything else.

Use the search function in this forum and also try looking at Reason specific forums for detailed info.

So u would have 2 dump whatever u were trying to get into reason from you mpc into your sequencing software,ie logic or pro tools,export that as a wav or aiff file,and then load that into u'r nn-xt?I know it worked like that with my sp-404.I haven't even gotten past chapter 4 in the mpc manual,I just got it yesterday and i wanna make sure i don't miss a thing!Thanx,i will check the reason forum!!

All MPC500 samples are natively wav files, so no conversion required. Unless it was a sequence, like a loop you created or something. Then you will need to record the audio output using an audio recorder on your computer (Audacity is free) and then use the resultant wav file.

Better still, make your loops, record as wav then use ReCycle to get it into Reason. Much better way of doing things.
