I need help

hi I have a mpc 2500,a yamaha motif,and a 001.I connected the mpc 2500 midi out 1 to the midi in of the 001 and midi in a from the 2500 to the the midi out of the 001.I also have the midi out 2 of the 2500 connected to the midi in of the motif and the midi out of the motif connected to the midi in b of the 2500.now what I do is on the 2500 I set midi channel 1 b and on the motif I put a sound on channel 1.and then I keep doing the samething for each sound I use on the motif.2 b,3 b etc.
but how do I now make my 001 read each individual sound of the motif.I guess im trying to make the 2500 the master and my 001 the slave. someone please help!
