Hooking MPC 1000 to Computer for sound

I remember reading on this forum about being able to hook the MPC 1000 to your computer to drop tracks by using an rca cable or something like that. I bought some Stereo Audio Cables that hook into the Digital In/Out port on the back of the MPC and goes into the computer, is this the rught connection?

No, you have to SPDIF cables to use digital in/out. (Assuming you're not using a mixer), buy cables with 1/4" mono plugs on one side and 1/8" stereo plug on the other. Connect the mono ends to the mpc out and the 1/8" to the pc sound card.

Thanks for the tip but I have one more question, once I hook those cables in from the mpc, how do I get the mpc to work with my fl studio 7 program. Do I need to hook up the usb cable to the pc or do I just need a midi interface?

The usb cable only gives you acces to the CF card so yes you gotta go with midi or audio cable that you will connect to your audio interface.

You need a midi to usb adapter.

yeah, that's one.

I tried transfering a song from mpc to pc using audacity but it comes out all fuzzy...how do I get the song to come out crisp and clear on the pc??

make sure all ur settings are right on comp and mpc, and check your cables
