LOL  I couldn't resist a chuckle at the tile of this thread :)

Bin Loadin issue....

Yeah, I'd say the bearded fugitive was an issue too !! LOL ;)

Anyway, let's see if I can help.

Download the .bin file to your computer and then transfer to the CF card. Insert the CF card into your MPC. You now have two options.

Option 1: With the CF card inserted, hold down the WINDOW key on the MPC and power it up. Keep the WINDOW button held down until you see some text appear on the screen. It will tell you it has found an OS file on the card and ask you if you wish to install it. Say yes by hitting the REC button and it will install. It will then reboot itself and you should be up & running.

Option 2: Power up your MPC as normal and once booted, press MODE + PAD2 (LOAD). Scroll through the files on the CF card and highlight the OS .bin file. Press the Function key marked DO IT and the OS will install. Once it has finished, it will ask you to power down and power back up again. This completes the install process.

If neither of these work, you either have a faulty OS file, so re-download it, or you may have a dodgy CF card. Try another or reformat it and try again. If you are sure none of these are the problem, it could be a more serious issue such as a faulty CF reader in the MPC.

Hope that helped.

Thanks for that tip about pressing ERASE when loading up - I've got no idea what it's supposed to do, but it just solved a problem I've been tearing my hair out over for hours!!

I loaded a new OS into my MPC.. It overwrote the last one, but wouldn't reboot. I tried all the different OS's too, and they did the same thing.. Thought I'd broken my machine for ever..

Then I tried restarting with ERASE pushed, and suddenly it reboots fine. Superb!!

What's that erase function supposed to do???

when you start your mpc with erase pressed it resets the mpc. The old os, files, just everything. Other then that you can erase notes, tracks and other shit with the key. Look in the manual.
