recommend a dj mixer for me

Just for sampling need, which one is a good mixer to power up my turntables preferably with EQ control?

Pretty much any DJ mixer will have EQ control on it from the past 5 years. If you're not going to be doing any mixing, you can probably get away with even the cheapest mixers. It's when you are going to be doing rigorous mixing and traveling that you need to spend more. Maybe one of the nice features I can think of that cheap ones wont have is balanced or digital outs. Those can help with the quality of the signal if that matters.

personally, i wouldn't touch anything other than a vestax mixer for my home studio. they have optical faders.. adjustable curve.. hamster switch..

if you just want just something to sample from any basic dj mixer will do but if you are going to have anyone do any cutting of any kind i highly recommend you at least get something with optical faders (like the vestax) as most of the new types of cuts like crabs can only be done on those types of faders.

as my man said though.. digital out + balanced outs are a huge plus so try to look for something like that cause your samples will be much more vibrant!!

What are some of the mixers that come with that feature?

Also, my local music store has the Stanton SK6 for $149 used.
Do you guys think it's a good price?

i wouldnt look for one with digital out as the A/D conversion is probably not that good on a dj mixer. you probably have better converters on your soundcard. that depends on what soundcard you are using tho. look at www.musiciansfriend.com they a got a decent selection of mixers.

No more than $200, but if I can get away with a cheap mixer than I am more than willing as all I am trying to use for is to sample.

I like the idea of EQ control on the mixer as I would like to tweak the sound before sending it to my 2000xl, but I see that the cheaper versions only has 2 band EQ, and some none.

There are so many choices that it's a headache trying to decide as I really don't have any experience with dj mixers.

numark mixers is good. someone told me he bought a stanton and the volume was dumb low on it, so he took it back and bought some other ish, and he been ok since.

For $200, try finding a small secondhand mixer. make sure it's not used too much though.
