Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000
By i.vleagueent Thu Jul 19, 2007 10:16 pm
I have a problem where I want to use a program that I frequently use due to its drum sounds. the problem is their are other samples on the program and sounds that I dont need for this particular beat that are taking up memory and everytime i try to add my newly choppped samples a window pops up saying their is not enough memory. My question is this. How do I delete these sounds from the program once I've open it? I say once i've opened it because i want to leave the original version unchanged. help would greatly be appreciated.

In the PROGRAM page press f1 ASSIGN
Select and highlight the sample you want to delete and press OPEN WINDOW
You can then delete the sound.
When you come to save the modified program, give it a new name to prevent you from overwriting the old one.

Highlight the SAMPLE , not the PROGRAM

It's the field that says Snd:*****
where ***** equals the sample name.

i go to the assign screen, hit the pad i want the sound deleted from, move the wheel till the field is blank, then repeat for other pads, and then purge the samples.

How do you "purge" unused (ie unassigned) samples?

I've only ever found the functions (within 'trim' mode) to delete one, or all samples...

This would be a most useful function!!!

you can purge anything not assigned to pads in the program screen. anything u don't need, unassign it. then press the purge function. it will tell you how many sounds are gonna be purged. DO IT!

or in the trim screen delete the sample
