Ebay & MPCS

I was planning on buying a used mpc 1000 but where im from no guitar center or etc is close by. so i say how bout ebay but im not sure how safe it would be i want a good machine and dont want to get hustled. I hear alot of stories bout ppl getting cheated on ebay everyday.

mpcs have issues research research read.

I've bought 2 MPC from e-bay - no problem. Research sellers....pay using secure methods - if it's too good to be true - it is...

dont be stupid and buy from someone with no feedback or too much negative feedback. and I would also check out what item the negative feedback was for. oh, i read all into feedback. i get serious wit it, jo.

especially when its something that costs over $100 online. gotta do your research, man.

just like artful said, you GOTTA check feedback.
Bad feedback = Take your dough elsewhere.
If it's a company, ask about their refund policy and make sure they post detailed pics of the ACTUAL mpc you'll be bidding on. That way, there won't be too many surprises about scratches and nicks when you open it up.

I bought my Mpc 1000 on ebay and it works perfectly. If you look around, you can find one with the 128 mb upgrade pretty cheap

how much u caught your for ?

With shipping it came out to about $650...you can find some pretty cheap ones on there, but when you actually read the auction info, alot of these have dead pads, or something else wrong. Make sure you read everything, and if they don't have pictures posted, ask them to post some. If they won't, take your hard earned dough elsewhere...
I don't know about everyone else, but that's alot of money to me, so there's no way I'd bid on an mpc without seeing the actual machine I'm buying...

Check Craigslist as well....I see MPC's advertised all the time in ATL - and you can check out local deals that way....

Craigslist is a good spot too, but unless you're in or next to a larger city, there may not be too many to choose from.

I bought an MP 1k on ebay with 128 exp. extra samples original box and shipping for 650 flat. I saw pictures of the actual model, and it appeared to be in great shape. When I got it though, all of the pads needed to be replaced, THE PADS ON THE 1K WEAR OUT, SO MAKE SURE YOU ASK HOW WELL THE PADS RESPOND BEFORE BUYING. Replacing all 16 pads cost me close to $200, so beware and good luck.
