1 - load project
2 - enter GPE
3 - F4 - MUTE
4 - navigate to MODE
5 - hit WHOLE
6 - scroll from MUTE to SIMULT
7 - continue past SIMULT to OFFSET

NOTE: this only works when WHOLE is selected.

what is OFFSET???

not sure, perhaps it offsets all the pads by one, which would explain why whole has to be on.

as of now it functions like simult does...must something they were trying out and scrapped, or something that is not implemented yet

yeah i don't think it's been mentioned on their website, so i guess you're right.

any idea what it could be? historically speaking, or even just an estimation?

perhaps it offsets all the pads by one

i didn't really get this

it was a wild at a glance guess, i meant a kind of transpose function, which would work with chromatic programs.

on reflection, i think it might offset the timing of the simulted pad, but again that's just a wild stab in the dark.

I'm curious...I can't think of what it would be...

that would be logical. some sort of timing offset, better for making more natural sounding chords (say a piano triggering) instead of having all 3 sounds trigger dead simultaneous, they get staggered by a tiny bit

i've gotten around that by doing a 2x trim reverse to increase space at the beginning of the sample before the transient. did the trick, but you know...

i wonder if it's gonna be developed or taken out.

regardless, I FOUND AN EASTER EGG

I thought offset was when instead of all your sounds starting right at 0, they could be set to start later. I don't think that makes any sense. I'm not sure how to explain it but I have used offset on software before.

Isn't "offset" usually a timecode thing?
Back in the days with tapemachines when sending timecode we
used an hour Midi-Time-Code offset as a standard.

Before 00:00:00 (hh-mm-ss) no valid time exists in timecode,
so we always started with a hour offset 01:00:00
Tape was striped with timecode beginning at 00:55:00.
This way all machines got the time to syncronize before passing
the 01:00:00 starting point of the production.

Just looking at my beautiful and FFF AAA TTT sounding Otari
Reel-to-Reel in a corner of the studio.
Still use it as an insert to get sweet tape saturation.

if it was a timecode thing, wouldn't it be in the midi screen, instead of gpe? it's odd it being there.
