how do i lay down a double time programmed beat?

i allways do double time beat programming and sync the mpc to live or other sequencers etc...
problem is that when i want to layer a loop in live with my mpc loop the liveloop is of course in double tempo, and thats not what i want.

how many of you make double time beats and how do you record or sequence your beats?

sure, i can resample the whole beat on mpc via masterout, but i often change some events, fills etc.. and i want the control of every individual sound in the mixer...

so whats your tip?

just program in double time in your sequencer (ableton or cubase or whatever)

it may start to get tricky when your using effects that are set to tempo but you can adjust them also

i do what your saying without a problem

if of got a 4 bar loop on the mpc (8 bar double time) i just treat it the same in cubase, 4 bar but actualy displaying 8

pull the sample/loop into your ableton session.
doubleclick on the sample/loop so that you see the clip display at the bottom of the screen (if you just see the effects instead hit SHIFT + TAB)
where it says "WARP" look underneath it.
there is the BPM reading, but below that are the buttons ":2" and "*2"
one button slows your loop to half speed and the other one doubles it.

i knowed this button, but allways did it on recorded drums from the mp.
but i forgot that i can do it also on the imported drums....


how do you all sync your daw? via midiclock?
i think the other way is perhaps sync it via mtc?
then the tempo is unimportant.
but dont have tried it...
