500 and Fruity Loops...

why don't everybody just use Fruity Loops instead of an MPC? i mean im not selling my MPC anytime soon, but i found out about Loops about a couple days after i bought my MPC, and FL is pretty awesome. plus, you have to find samples for your MPC.

(where do you get samples for the 500?)

Because no piece of software can give you the tactile response that an MPC can, nor can a piece of software replicate the groove and feel of an MPC. Plus, software crashes. MPC's invariably don't.

yea, im still using my MPC as my 1st string, but just Fl on the side.

if ur looking for a certain sample(s), where do you get them? for that matter, where do you get ANY samples from?

Hook up a dynamic mic to your MPC, sample a few sounds yourself. Even sampling drum breaks or whatever, play them through a messed up old speaker, put the mic next to the speaker and record them from there. You'll end up with a more unique sound doing it that way.

What samples are you after? Just plug ANY sound source into the MPC input and bingo!

well, im trying to get some ocean like sounds with the tide flowing or whatever and some like the wind blowing. and some others like off of the show Samurai Champloo. like how do you insert sounds of swords clashing together or voice recordings?

get two rca chords, and a dual mini jack that both of them can hook up to. so it looks like a headphones jack on one side with two female headphones jacks on the other side. then put them into the jack, put the mini jack into your tv headphones jack and the other two into the input of your mpc, you need the 1/4 inch adaptors and plug those into. read from page 63 on in your mpc 500 manual.
