I keep hearing about this JJ OS and i would be tempted to install it on my 2500. i was just wondering what are the differences between the JJ OS and the one shipped with MPC's. Also is their any way of backing up the Akai OS before making the switch to the JJ OS. Thanks

go to google and search for "mpc jj os" and you will find his webpage. there is a manual there.

you can also go to the akai webpage and checkout their manual for the OS.

Now instead of hearing a whole bunch of people opinions you can find out for sure by doing your own research.

well i have a important gig this weekend so il leave it until next week to play around with it. I see alot of people posting about various bugs with it, are they major ones? the only reason i ask is because most people use the MPC for beats and certain bugs might not effect them depending on the way you use it. I use MPC for alot of Live Seq for ambient, beats, electronica and other unorthodox methods etc...I guess what i am trying to say is that bugs or errors can effect different people in different ways..

Or am i just full of shit, someone please tell me :D

I haven´t noticed any major bugs on the latest OS, it´s very stable to me. I had lots more problems with the AKAI OS.
You should install it and find out how it works for you! It´s like you said: "bugs or errors can effect different people in different ways.."

The easiest way to learn the JJ OS is to play around with it. It´s free to try so you don´t really have anything to lose! :)

well there is no perfect translation for a lot of the Japanese words according to my friend.

He told me a lot of times its a matter of finding synonymous explanations/words .

So when you are reading English text that has been translated from Japanese you should keep in mind the multiple meanings/definitions of words so that you don't misinterpret the translation.

Please elaborate more. So you haven't encountered major bugs with the JJ OS? So which minor bugs did you encounter?

The more problems with the Akai OS..were those major or minor? How many did you encounter..and which specific problems did you have?

Hey Ya,

just came from the store, holding my brandnew 2500 (sweeet..)
Wonder if it`s sufficient, to just install the free JJ OS 3.06, or if its better to buy 5.30..

Jahrome, you mentioned, that you like the 27 better than newer versions, but this ones no longer available..

I mean, if it has just some minor changes to the 3.06, like some shortcuts, you really dont need, i take the 3.06 and thats it.

Thanks for your Help in Advance.
