Had a 2000xl a while back , then sold it. still kept my asr 10 - then went the pc route which is NOT me at all. Got some saved and have been looking at the 3k- my question is:

1 - I dont mind chopping samples using my ear ( asr ) as opposed to a graphical view ( 2kxl ) my question is with the 3k does it allow you to lets say, sample a 5 second sample and chop it once into five 1 second chops and manually assign it, or due to lack of graphical view, do i have to record 1 second truncate it assign it, then record the 2nd second truncate it assign it, then record the 3rd second truncate, assign etc etc

sorry about this noob question.

thank you.

alright look you record say 5 seconds make 5 copys and say you assign it to pad 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 well you got pad one in the edit screen and you got a delete zone so you delete seconds 2 3 4 5 then hit delte zone and you have the 1 second on pad one then you go to pad 2 delete the first second the you delte seconds 345 i dont if you get what im saying but thats how i do it but yeah you dont got to sample 1 second then two get a 3k with memory maxed out ight man hope it helps

And if you buy the new OS for the 3000, you can sample 5 seconds and make a new sound of the first second, the second second, the third second, the fourth second, the fifth second, and any short or long part of the sample. Just like on the 2000.
