Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Hi,
I'm recording from the mpc to my pc, and i don't have the 8 out expansion...
anyway, usually when i record the drum patterns i record bd+snare together on the same track and later the add ons on other tracks.
Now when i record back to the pc I want to put the bd and snare on different tracks - so I need to go back to the mpc mixer and turn off the volume for the bd/snare...

does anyone have an easier method of doing this, maybe something i've overlooked?

thanks,
the knowledge is very much appreciated!

you could still record kick and snare together then chop them up in you DAW and put the snare onto a seperate track, or sync the MPC up with the PC with midi, record your kick then the snare then hi hats, i've done this before works if you have a got soundcard with good low latency.
