Well Im back on the 3000

I purchased a mpc2500 a few weeks ago becauce of its ADVANCED features. In not so many words lets just say im back on the 3000 and theres no way in hell im ever switchin to another beat machine. There really is a difference in the sound quality of the samplers....dont let any one tell you different. This 3 is the best there is.......

Is it worth $1400? I saw a nice one on ebay. I've been watching them for a while and it seems like that's cool for a real nice one. I really want the le but they bust heads for those. I might get it soon!

What was the problem with the mpc 2500 bro? If it was sound you could of just bought a 12 bit sampler for that warm sound. When i had a mpc 2kxl i hated the sound, HATED!!! so i sampled everthing with my eps-m or emax and just sequenced with the xl...the only thing i hated more was the sound and weak swing of reason, i will never make beats with PC's//// NEVER!

The sound of the 3000 is better than that of the 2000(xl) although both are 16 bit.

Does the pads feel better or the same? I had a 4k and the pads were wayyy better than the 1k or 2kxl.

Dunno, but the pads on my 60 are WAY nicer than on my xl aswell...Not to mention the 1000.

The pads on the 3000 are different they feel like there is more metal under them and not so squishy and soft like on the 2000(XL).

I know.....I know. Shame on me. I got gear lust. There is no comparison. I know that now.

I switch to the 2500 about 6 months ago now and would never go back. Yeah the 3k has a hard sound but by the time i run the kik/snr through the API the shit bangs the same.

The work flow is so fast on the 2500 and the features give me new idea's i could never do on the 3k

macman, are you not concerned with the cheap build and quality of the 2500/1000 - I know people complain about the pad going to hell after usage on the 1000 and folk complain about the cheap toggle wheel going to hell on the 2500....is te sound on the 2500 thin like on the 2kxl?

I made a beat on the 2500 together with the owner of it, and yo, I did not like it.

You could set different envelopes on samples you assign just like on the 3000, but when i tried to layer some kicks the way I do on the 3000 it got all wack with no punch at all. The envelope on the pad that I chose to trigger to other samples with was the "master" envelope or something, so the other envelopes followed that one. Man, I hated that.

The data wheel felt like cheap plastic, and not like something that will last 10 years.

And the sound was not incredible at all, neither was the subfilter, (not even close to 3000's) compressor or other effects. The filters was nothing, a nobody, sounded terrible.

Do you really think the sound on the xl is thin? Or thin in comparison to a 3000?

Does the 2500 not use the same DSP chip as the 2000/3000 ?

As for the data wheel, yeah i agree that bugs the crap out of me
