can't save sound param. why?

this is something new to me or at least i never noticed before...

on my newest project my mp doesn't save the sound parameters..

i had to turn up the velocity (level) on some sounds at "trim>params"

but everytime i turn my machine off and on again those settings are gone..

i save APS And ASS as always but for some reason it doesn't work here.

could it be a problem that i have too many sounds for the mp to be able to save the settings?
that'd be weird to me because i still have enough sample time left...

is there something wrong with my mpc?

yeah, this stumped me for a while too til i figured it out

basically, you're changing the sound FILE. since you want this new change to be saved, you'll have to OVERWRITE the snd you want to save since right now you are basically saving .aps without overwriting the existing snd's

ok but everytime i save, i choose to "replace same sounds"
and replace the whole APS file, so basically i am overwriting them
ain't i?

maybe my mp is getting old...

i ALWAYS save APS and choose "replace same sounds >> YES"
i now even tried to save those specific sounds individually but still when i load that
beat again the params settings are gone...

i'm at a loss here... any help is appreciated.

It's in your manual. Look up the file formats.
Figure out what you wanna save.
Save the file format extension that will save what you want inside.

Hint, APS is not the only thing you should be saving for a complete project.

nah man, i ain't no noob. i know how to save a complete project.
i'm ALWAYS saving APS & All Sequences and Songs of course..

but it still doesn't save them params..

i want my snare to play a little louder so i go trim>params>level and put that from 100 to 200
everytime i load the project up again though that snare is set back to default (100)

start-/end points etc. are saved too?

in the manual it doesn't really say in depth what exactly is saved.
especially whats NOT saved isn't mentioned at all..

i mean how's a playa supposed to know what exact settings belong to what sector..
program > params are saved cause they belong to the program, loop settings, start-/ end points
are saved too and they also in the trim section.. u feel me?

i usually use params and not trim but in the mixer settings i can't turn up the volume on just one specific sound. i can only turn it down.. or i can put up the master level to 6dB but then obviously everything is gonna play louder..

i mean its not like this is a major problem.. i can still tweak that bytch when tracking out..
i just figured there has to be a way to directly save what i did but oviously there isn't..

whats the use of a function that can't be safed tho?

$10 youve exited the folder where your original arragement was, your now saving it in a different directory, and probably have 2 copys of the same project with different internal settings.

Make sure you overwrite in the same folder. Sounds simple but it easy to do.

fam i ain't saving to different folders. i did that shit before but as i said i ain't no noob.

i definitely put every sound on its own track because thagts obviously the only way
a song can get mixed properly.. and i know how to use the mixer but u gotta agree when i say
that u can only turn the velocity of a sound DOWN and not UP..

since i want my snare to play LOUDER i had to **** with the trim mode, since thats the only way
to do that to one specific sound. (TRIM>PARAMS>LEVEL)

i could have sworn that i was able to save those settings before but i could be wrong since its not like a huge change in terms of velocity and maybe i just didn't realize that it was set back because i was assuming that it saved that sheet..

and fam, please trust i know how to sample my shit right.. i did not sample it too low its not like u can barely hear it.. i just wanted my snare to play a little louder everything else is just fine..
i know i can do that later too and i know how to use a compressor or how to normalize and all that good stuff... but i just like to get the best sound straight out of the mp..

bottom line is: the only way u can turn up the velocity of one specific sample is the way i did it
and for some reason i can't save that bytch. of course i could turn up the master level and then
turn the volume down on every other sound but that'd be like breaking a butterfly on a wheel..
