Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Can anyone please tell me how to sequence my beats into cubase so that I can mix and export it as a audio file. I have an US122 Tascam midi interface that i'm using. I have midi cords and everything.

Easy,

- Connect your mpc to your interface with your midi cables (mpc out to interface in and vice versa)
- Connect the audio outputs of your mpc to the audio inputs of your interface
- Connect your interface to your pc
- Set up midi sync in cubase and your mpc
- Record your tracks in cubase (if you pres record in cubase, your mpc will start playing automatically)

what does - Connect the audio outputs of your mpc to the audio inputs of your interface- do? just out of curiosity....

ok, I hooked everything up and it's recording but when I Play it back it's playing through the MPC and not cubase. Nothing was coming out the monitors so I plugged my headphones into the mpc and it was playing through it. When I exported the music after recording as an audio file and reopened it there was nothing there to play but some other stuff I recorded with some vst's. None of the drum sequences from the mpc played.

Sorry, but this is very common: you do know midi can't bus audio, right?

You can even set CUBASE to the slave, press record on CUBASE (which will put the system to standby) then hit PLAY on the MPC. . .

This is a good way to run different effects on each track if you don't have 8-outs on the MPC.

-->Record each track seperate. .
