how come some of the drums sounds?

when importing them into the mpc 1000 via vsb. some of the sounds r very distorted and unuseable. what is making this happin and how can it be fixed. it's most of the drumz in the packs section hip hop and real drum kits. thx in addvance

not sure if transfering files via usb there is no a/d conversion so the sound should be the same as its all 0's and 1's at that point. The only thing that could be affecting the sound would be the mpc at this point. Do you have your cpu and mpc output to the same speaker source. Give us a little more info and maybe we can help you out.

I have the sample problem on some sounds. They will sound fine on my PC, then sound like crap on my MPC....

Make sure the samples are 16 bit, 44.1 Hz.

how can they b converted. some of the kits that sound good arent 16 bit though. confusing?

you can convert them with your daw,

this is how i do it with acid pro 5, i take the sample, and highlight it, right click and say select in chopper, then i say chop to new track from the chopper, and i make sure that the chopped track is being converted to a .wav with the right frequency.
