Compressing drums sounds on Recylce

Any tips or suggestions?

So none of ya'll round here bragging about how great this program have any idea about this? So, do I have to join some kind of click to get an answer?

I've not used the built in 'transient shaper' as they call it, but apparently it works the same as a normal compressor. There's some suggested compressor settings in my Compression Articles.

There is no right way to do anything when it comes to compression. Just experiment and go with whats right for the track. I do know ReCycle is a great tool to fine tuning drums before sending em to the MPC, I just havent used it in four months....

work with the attack and release times. compressor settings are kind of individualistic to a performance, but all you usually need is just a small ratio like 2-3:1 for evening out stuff.

Someone told me this is a good starting point for evening out a source.

Start at a medium ratio to get a good idea of the sound and keep the threshold between 2-4 db and adjust your gain up a little to hear how it sound.


If you want to squash a recording turn that ratio up, lower the threshold and adjust your attack and release times.
