AKAI MPD24 on front page of youtube.

So i got one of those MPD24's

I was experimenting with figuring out a way to perform beats live incase i should ever enter a live beat battle or have to perform at an event. Also i wanted to showcase the device since at the time i posted it there hardly any videos on the MPD24.

anyways, i recorded myself an posted it. to my surpise it has gained alot of popularity...to the point it was featured on the front page of youtube.

I been getting alot of good comments on it..however most the bad comments are about the fact I used the pads for scratching...i know pad scratching is cheesey however i was stoked that i figured out a way to do it to where it sounded some what organic...

As a scratch DJ myself i am in no way trying to say that pad scratchign is dope...however...i think its a good producers trick. Like a magic trick you pull out of your hat once and a while to get some OOOHS and AHHS...its way easier then scratchign for real and takes hardly any skill at all..however its a still a pretty cool trick..but..I'de much rather scratch for real dont get me wrong.

hahha ive had hundred of people hit me up saying they are gonna buy the MPD24 now...maybe AKAI will kick me down with a free MPC2500 or something...that would be cool cuz i miss my ASR-X..and always wanted the MPC2500 since it came out...its just good to have one you know?

Overall..I love the MPD24...the pads are great and it feels like its built quality...prettymuch just like an MPC minus the internal functions and features..It definately makes Software usage feel alot more organic and fun..and alot more like usign an MPC...if you use software i highly suggest getting one.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure at least half of your views was by me hahaha.. I really like this ish and yeah, i bought mine after seeing that. I also spreaded a link around internet a little hehe (so i want MPC 2500 too, I would bel also cool with just MPC 500 from Akai haha)..

What was a soft which did you used in that video to play? Becouse I'm using FL Studio & don't know how do some stuff you did in my sequencer..

i dont really care much about the beat itself really.

it was more of an experiment to see if i could perform a beat live somehow if i had to do it in front of an audience..it came up pretty decent so i uploaded it.

i actually like the pad scrathes,not authentic but they sound just as good.nice vid bro and i also like the mpd 2.cool lil controller.

People will always criticise dude. They get miserable as they can't do shit so all they have left is play bonzos on the internet sitting behind their screens. Most probably they can't even play a gameboy but usually they have the fullest mouths.
I wouldn't give a flying **** if I were you. Great stuff.

I found answer on that youtube link - FL Studio 7. Anyway i still don't know how he made some stuff which is on this film in it. (Scratching, playing loop without hitting the pad)..

Great live playing. Loved the scratching too. That's natural if you've ever done any scratching on a turntable. Like this track I did 8 years ago where I had some noise with a sharp cutoff that I was triggering and pitch bending at the same time from a keyboard. It wasn't meant to, but came out sounding like scratching which some people actually thought it was, but was just my normal playing style coming from a turntable background. Then a few years back figured I could do that on the MPC aswell with the Q-link knobs. So I wouldn't worry about the criticism. Thing is, I doubt anyone who wasn't already a dj could do that. They wouldn't be familiar with the rhythms or pitch motion.
