You know that feature that Ableton, Sonar etc has that allows you to bash any old key on a midi keyboard and have it constrained to a predetermined scale? Is there any way to achieve this with JJ?

how about using live/sonar to do this. feed the midi from the keyboard, through the pc/mac, and to the mpc.

what you could do is just create the scales that you want and save them as programs, it would take longer but in the end you'd be totally self contained in the mpc and you'd have the same effect as what you're going for.

i dont follow. would this allow me to jam along with the groove, playing any notes i damn well choose on my midi keyboard, and the resulting sounds are all resolving to a melancholy g minor in the style of portishead before they fell the hell off?
