I never owned a MPC 3000, so Iam comparing the Thin sounding 2kxl to my other samplers I used, the +16 and my asr 10 --- talk about night and day. I did hear my friends mp60 but i wont compare it because its 12bit. I never used 2500 or 1000 so I dont know how those sound in comparison to the 2kxl. sorry, Ive making beats since 98 but just stuck with my ensoniq / emax setup/

Yeah man, I understand. I've got an xl and I'm pretty happy with it. It's the only 16bit sampler I have at the moment (got a 60 and eps but those are 12bit). I wouldn't say the xl sounds 'thin' just like that though. In comparison to something like a 3000, I agree.

I guess the final result is what matters, The Ensoniq EPS is 13bit, The eps being a 12bit machine is a myth. I can honestly say, If you ever find a EMAX rack, cop it, the closest thing to a 1200 by far.

*mental note: keep an eye out for a great deal on an emax*
