Did anyone every figure out why for some people the Splash Screen only works from the CF Card and not the Hard Drive?

I have right clicked one of these splash screens and saved as. I then put it onto a cf card and I can't get it to come up as a splash screen. What am I doing wrong? I even gave it the appropriate title like the manual says, but still...

I ripped off the logo of my favorite place to ride snowboards. As soon as I found out about changing the screen that shows on my mpc for a half a second when you turn it on, I've been changing it once a week... I just rip off a pic from the internet, save it as a b/w bitmap of the right dimensions, and put it on there. It's a complete waste of time, but I that's exactly what I like about it.

as we're all discussing about kicking features out of jj's code, i want to ask who really uses / needs the splashscreens. i found it fun at the beginning, but in the end, when i turn on my mpc hardly anybody looks on my screen except for me... so if i was to decide, i would KICK THIS FEATURE!!!!

hehe, just kiddin, no hard feelings...

i would kick this feature to...but the thing i've learned with all these polls is that there's allways someone that want to keep those kind of features...
so the decisions will be made JJ only because we can'tget us fixed on ours workflows...

kick it to the curb.. splash screen is a toy function - not needed in at all
