I turned the play mode in my program to mono to stop the overlapping I was having. but now my drums cut out my sample. so basically I'm just asking how you make it so the pads don't overlap while still being able to put other pads/samples like drums and bass in.
If I explained this bad just tell me and I'll elaborate more.

use different programs for drums and sample, set your sample program to mono and your drums program to poly

or leave the program as mono, and set the drum samples you don't want to overlap as mono, and leave the other samples as poly.

or you can just make the samples note on and then just record them the way yo want so they don't overlap.
