Can you record scratching into the mpc

I can't figure out a way to record scratching into the mpc while the beat is playing. I can always just record the beat into the computer and then just play that and record the scratching on the mpc. But that is really round out a bout, and i bet there is an easier way to do it. Can someone help me with this?

if your talking real scratching and not some lame azz glitchy digital sh!t than youll need a turntable, samples to cut on the record..and just friggin press play while in record screen, and record your cuts to the beat dood.... i may not understand but clarify what your asking man

I'm talking about scratching on a turntable. but can you record stuff in the record screen while the beat is playing without the recording having the beat recorded to.

go to any track from 57-64 (these are audio tracks) -- well actually that's in the paid version. you don't get as many audio tracks in the free version, but they are still there somewhere.

select your recording source in the RECORD screen, leave that screen

REC+PLAY while audio track is the selected track and scratch away.

(or you could use a multi-tracker software and just record the scratches after you record you beat)

if you record your analog inputs into the record screen it will only record the turntable. Maybe a really small amount of feedback, i try to do it without kicks and snares.

Then just use your trim screen to find the cuts that you want and play them in like you would any other sample

or if you're good enought you can just record 8-16 bars of scratching and then just trim it and trigger it once and play the whole thing.

as thedvs01 said, use JJ os audio tracks. With the input thru you can even practice when it s not recording, during playback. The only problem is the polyphony. hope that helps more
