Just lost three beats

I just started taking beats more seriously, as in I'd never spend more than a day making a beat n id just record it to a tape, never bothered saving. But now im puttin more effort an they soundin better. Not having a manual I was able to find out how to format a floppy, so after that i went to save all files, cuz i wanted everything to save, but then when I went back the next day to load it up an some shit came up bout sequence an loading an deleting some shit, i dont know but long story short I lost three hot beats. Could someone please explain in lehmans terms how to load save material step by step.

First you save a All Sequences and Songs file, then you save an All programs and sounds file.

at least you didnt finish up an ep, save it correctly, mah dukes comes in your room, starts cleanin, puts floppies on your speaker while youre gone for the weekend and have you come back to NOTHING!

hey, at least i saved cash on floppies, had 25 brand new BLANK ones to start fresh with.

that was about 2 yrs ago. been absolutely anal with disks since then haha.

I save my sh!t in alphabets . I'll name the program & sequence a corresponding letter and then save under 'Save A program and sounds' and then save the sequence w/ 'Save A sequence' . Using 'Save ALL pgm.s & snd.s' has always seemed like it was easier to save but harder to organize . Then I just select PGM. in the load window and load the letter of the program , and then select SEQ and load the matching letter . The worst is when your'e in the middle of an idea w/ a beat and the power goes out . . . . . or how about when your'e tuning something or f#cking w/ it while the seq. was playing and your MPC freezes ? Has anyone replaced the floppy drive in a 2000 themselves ? Mine has gone south (zip is a blessing) and I need to replace it .
