Good Multitrack for the MPC1000

What up people I was wondering I got a MPC1000 and I wanted to know what would be a good multitrack that I could connect to it. And if you could help me out with what I would need to start up a studio I would really appreciate it.

I have the same problem, i see a lot of talk about the m box, i'm also looking at the yamaha aw16g, my boy has it and its dope. but i dont know

This is not the kind of question we can answer here, you'd buy a multitrack depending on your other requirements, you don't need one for the MPC itself.

I just got the EXM128 upgrade, so I have enough sample time to do all the audio for a track on the MPC now (running mikes and guitars through preamps first, of course). Then I'll mix it all down using the multiple outs through FX to a mixer, then to the PC.

I have Adobe Audition on the PC - that's my "multitrack" today - but it doesn't sync up to the MPC properly (only does MTC, the MPC only does MIDI clock) - so I'm only going to use it for "post-production" and mastering.

(Damn this day job - I spend too much time talking about stuff I should be DOING. I have a week off coming up soon, we'll see what happens then.)

Do you know any programs that do sync well with the mpc? That do use midi clock? Also, do you record whole songs on your mpc? Vocals and everything? If so, how and where did you get enough memory for that?

From what we've read here, all the major sequencers do MIDI clock and will sync up to the MPCs, the only real complaints are about "pure audio" programs like Adobe Audition / Cool Edit / WaveLab.

I plan to do at least the core of a track on the MPC1000, and there should be enough sample time for the bits I'll be sampling, but it will depend on the track. Not everything will be samples, there will be synths involved via MIDI only (almost no memory needed). Keep samples Mono (vox, basslines) unless they gotta be stereo, use external FX... that'll work.

I'm still building up a head of steam, no full tracks under construction - so far I spent too much time on the FAQ, the day job, watching "Six Feet Under", and even writing lyrics...
