Beginner guestions.

Answering these guestions should be easy for you guys.

How to connect your mpc into turntable(s)?
What`s the best way to record somethin from vinyl to your mpc?

How to save samples, sequences or anythin to your mpc? I think my mpc hard disc is broken some how...

Yeas I`m a rookie my english is bad (what makes manual readin very difficult) and I`m using 2000XL.

Daem... I can`t even make loops yet!

I have nothing else to do so why not..

1. Most turntables need to go through a pre-amp in order for the sound to come out properly. Do it like this: turntable -> dj mixer (which will work as the pre-amp) -> MPC record in. However some turntables have a built in pre-amp so you could just connect it straight to the mpc.

2. Hmmmm... The best way has to be to press "shift"+"sample" first, and then "record" (F6)

3...... Well, you can't save them to your mpc. You have to save them either to a floppy (using the default MPC floppy drive), a ZIP disk (using an internal or an external ZIP drive), or an external hard drive. Simply press "shift"+"save" and "Save All Sequences and Songs" (.ALL) and "Save All Programs and Sounds" (.APS) to any of the above three drives.

4. We have all been rookies at some point, but the best way to learn is to try. You don't learn how to drive a car by asking drivers how they do it, you learn by driving the damn thing yourself! Next time you turn on your MPC try to press every single button on it to see what they do... That way you learn by actually doing it.

If you knew how to read my response then you would have found what you needed from the manual...

The manual is written with the same english that we are speaking here... If you can read "us" then you can read the manual as well. Don't be frightened by the size of the manual, just read one chapter at a time and try to understand it. It's also useful to sit at your MPC and try to follow the manual at the same time, there are pictures all the way that should help you understand what you're supposed to do.

You'll get there, don't give up...

Actually I don`t have any friends whit mpc and everybody in the internet says same thing: "Read the manual It`s all there."

Even if my basic english is good manual includes too much hard words to understand.

So you can`t actually save sequences or anythin in to your mpc? Then what kind of equipment you use to save your stuff?
So if I have just mpc it`s no use because I need to buy some equipment to save?

And one more question: If you want to eq or filter your samples do you need computer to do that or is this something you can do with mpc?

I`m still monkey figuring out bible whit this looping thing...

OK, I'll try to make it easy:
There is a FLOPPY DRIVE on the front of your mpc. Put a FLOPPY in there and save
ALL SEQUENCES AND SOUNDS (.ALL)
and
ALL PROGRAMS AND SOUNDS (.APS)
It takes a lot of FLOPPIES to save all of this, so you may have to switch the FLOPPIES in between saving. Don't worry, the MPC tells you when to switch the FLOPPIES.

Or you can buy a ZIP DRIVE and connect it on the back of your MPC. Then you can use ZIP DISKS to save.

It is also possible that you have an INTERNAL ZIP DRIVE in your MPC in the instead of the FLOPPY DRIVE.

The HARD DRIVE is also one option.


I can't make it any more simple than that.

Hey .....If you're english is not that great it might help to let people know in what country you live. You can put this in your signature under location, so local cats can help you. Just a thought.
I've had a lot of questions form people that live in my country cause they find it easier to speak in Dutch.
