Exchange tips and tricks for the Akai MPC4000

So here is a sequel to a topic posted weeks earlier...
I guess everyone careful enough noticed how strange volume values increment in KG MIX window, that is:

-change the db value from +6 db to -14/-15 db, there is absolutely no dynamic, WTF, this is pretty strange and confusing...

-play a sound with the 16 level (velocity) and you notice there is no dynamic at all from pad 11 to pad 16

And oh yeah velocity is set to linear.

After diggin a litle more into program matrix, I came with somehow workaround:

In program matrix window:

- tilt velo>amplitude is set to +034 right? Set this value to +044.

- create another patch in mod 8 field (blank) with this value:
velocity (not tilt)>amplitude, depth value -034

- create another patch again in mod 9 like this:
velocity>amplitude +001

Program level is set to -6 dB and global volume to -6 dB as well

Then you have a regular dynamic until 0 dB, the velocity dynamic is like 30 dB wich is enough for me.

But still no dynamic above 0 db (still KG MIX window)...

Try this or if anyone got a better program matrix configuration let me know...

we've had all this b4,
if we do it again,
all that's gonna happen is that Blue Haze and his Englrish friends will start making me slap them again and he'll have to lock the threads!

Yeh I know what you mean, except this time I just came with a workaround I 'd like to share....
But yeh, if we can focus on this very subject, wouldn't be bad

pas de probleme, normal....

Gimme some feedback after trying this, I still wonder why nobody seems to have been that bothered whith the default program matrix, and there is nothing about it in the newbie bible.....
