Can I chop a sequence i made?

i made a lil beat, everything on it's own track, and i wanted to know how I could then use the trim feature on it and slice it?

the search function and me don't work well together.

trim is for slicing samples.

You could also record that beat through the main output.Then slice that sample however you want.

Thanks for the info. So do I run a cable from output to record? Both right and left from stereo out to record in? Do I remember correctly that it only slices one side.

Is there a software way to do this like turning a seq into a sample or moving the info to another folder location? Sorry if this sounds stupid. I know a seq is a bunch of action info and a sample is a recorded wav. So it kinda makes sense that what I would do is record the audio from the seq into a wav. Thanks for all the info guys. Just got my 1000 yesterday and I love it.

you are making this more difficult than it needs to be. just go into the record page then scroll over to source and select main outs

so i select main outs opposed to digital or analog....then where do i find my sequence?


also how do i delete my internal memory?

sorry for the noob questions...i actually read the pdf manual for 2 weeks before i bought the 1k...still kinda confused anout some stuff.

Make sure your sequences are loaded up and everything,then go to the record screen.At the top of the record screen choose main output as your input.This means that anything coming out of your mpc will be recorded once you press record.So just play the sequece as it records,thus having your beat as a sample which you can chop.As far deleting memory there are various ways to do that.All the answers are in the manual,hope that helps.

just read it for 45 min and i could not find how to erase the inernal memory...any hints..you could problt tell me how to do it in as many keystrokes as it takes to tell me to read the manual.

yo "find" your sequence by pressing the play button

if something is confusing you, there's always the manual (you were waiting for that weren't you)

that one was a "cut and paste" concept with subject material changed.
the original was "can you carry these cinder blocks to the attic so i won't have to?"

i liked the original better.

i just want know one thing how is it that you have read the manual for two weeks (i will give you a pass on that because you did not have the machine in front of you at the time)

Then with all that pre reading not be able to find erasing the internal memory after having looked for 45mins are you serious!

I take it you mean the auto loaded stuff when you first turn it on.

If you have not found it out by now you still have a lot more reading to do I guess.
