Mike Feedback wrote:adding the chop number is reasonable, but i doubt that editing the start and end points in MODE+PAD11 will be implemented. reason being that MODE+PAD11 edits the program while start and end points are saved within the WAV file. it would just be a mess trying to edit the WAV files from that screen... from a programming standpoint i mean.

but it may be helpful if you were in the chop field within MODE+PAD11 or in Program mode, you could hit open window and then a soft key to be sent to Trim mode with that sample and chop number already selected.

Why not Use MODE+PAD 4? Nothing is on that PAD. And I'm down for the OPEN WINDOW option too. This would be soooo sweet!

I'm a little late to this party!

Great thread and some fine work from those involved. If JJ can pull this off I'll be most impressed :)

I think JJ would have understood something like this better...

Image
PS: I know the waveform in the regions section of the mpc is actually not the same as in the editor, but whatever ;)

stan, that image doesn't really show what i'm talking about. my method allows for separate start and end points per chop, and chops can overlap eachother. regions can't do that because the end point on one region is another regions start point.

the sound forge waveform (i think it's sound forge) doesn't really show how chops can overlap eachother either. i think your image just makes it more confusing.

Yeah you are right about overlapping start and end points. I just wanted to somehow visualize, that only one FILE is in use... It was just meant as an inspiration / a quick brainstorm of some sort. I did this in about 5 minutes. Of course one must modify the model and add a text explanation of course. When I saw the othe screenshots, I had no idea what they were trying to tell me if I didn't know the background story of it, you know?

peace

PS: Ooops, I just saw JJ already replied, that it would not be possible?! My Bad... must have skipped some pages, sorry for bothering

Hi ..Im new here. But I wanted to add that once i saw this topic in the forum I immediately joined just to say. This would be one of the most important features in a Mpc. Workflow (especially if you like to chop) would increase bigtime. Now I use FL Studio from time to time and i use the Fl Plug-in called "Wave Traveller" . What I do is drop a sample riff into wave traveller and then assign each key (quickly I might add) to any part of the riff. In a matter of seconds I can have (lets say) 12 keys triggering 12 different points within the Riff. I LOVE THIS. And at any time I can go back and just adjust the start point whenever I need. I am sorry I reopened this post again... but I just had to say I would love this feature. I have a Mpc2000 and also an Mpc500 (which I am gonna take back and just get the 1000 like I should have in the first place. But my prayers would be answered if this Feature can be added,

Also.... If you guys dont really understand what i mean about the Wave Traveller chops... I can post a video on youtube later today if you like.I actually connect my Mpc2000 to Fl studio and have the pads play Wave Traveller.. so it will "kinda" look like I have this new feature already. Thanks Yall.. and much success.
