Do any of you guys think that it will be in any of the updates?

By ONE Wed Apr 21, 2004 5:29 am
No I don't, but I also think that no one uses it anyway! I wouldn't base a decision on whether th 1k is good or not or will work for you on that! The 1k is a great machine, especially if you have a PC and don't mind using the two together. The USB and compact flash support is dope for transferring stuff from your PC to the 1000. If you have a compact flash reader/writer it's even better.

If you don't wan't to use PC for much or at all, I would suggest a 2xl(there are a lot of optional accessories to $$$ for before it is fully blown) or 4k. Just realize that you will be spending a lot more $$$ for these

Yeah u need to chill out One. I know what i bought, and, I know what the other MPC's do and don't do. And thanks for giving me a bio of for the 1k, i don't think your coment will persuade me into buying another mpc. keyword another. I was just wondering if anyone knew if they would make sample reverse an option, in one of there future updates.

By guitman Thu Apr 22, 2004 5:17 am
Just my 2 cents but I don't think it will matter if they make sample reverse an option as the mpc1k seems to be most powerful with a PC and most of the audio editors have this as an option. I do beleive that there are a number of tricks that have not been used on a sample that has been reversed such as the the reverse and then add reverb and reverse back that was so popular in the 80's.

True enoughg but theres some things that seem so small that would save a lot of time (plugging in cables, waiting for transfers, etc) that would be nice.. just a little less hassle.. but like i said before.. no biggie.. :)

amazing that the MPC1k did not implement a feature that was available on the akai s20 - the 'entry level' MPC - already in 1997. The s20 can do the reverse in real time while the sample is playing. A really nbifty feature, you can play back and forth a loop at the touch of a button.
It is all the most amazing that reversing a sample is a very simple thing from a sofware point of view, then it may be considered in a future OS update.

 Whoa buddy who needs to chill out here? Keep in mind you can't read my body language and facial expressions on a forum. Big deal I misinterpreted...lighten up! There's just been so many people in this forum asking questions because they are considering purchasing a 1000.

how many of ya are using mpc1000 without using computer by the way?

By ONE Thu Apr 22, 2004 6:41 pm
I sure as hell have to use a PC! A lot of people here got tons of other gear they are using it in conjunction with as well!

By dandondelyus_ Thu Apr 22, 2004 8:09 pm
it sounds naive but,, the loop feature is one directional, right?
