I just dig old vinyl, I don't really mess with MP3's as I don't use a computer. Buying old vinyl for samples, you'll come across some obscure stuff that other people may not have come across or thought of sampling, and you can build some nice tracks from them. Try some old Library records and soundtracks, you can get some nice incidental bits perfect for Hip hop out of them.

The MP3 option will give you the sort of samples that more people are on, but the plus side is you'll get a cleaner sound (if that's what you're looking for) but you might find that you prefer the warmer sound you get from an LP?
