fitting of 128meg upgrade

just bought an akai 128meg upgrade and was wondering does anything naughty happen to your settings or saved samples when you first put it in or is it really as it says, just fit in, turn on and your off, no complications like a computer?

or am i best making sure i save all to memory card first?
