MPC and Triton set-up

I have the MPC4K and Triton set-up with major problems. I using the MPC as my sequencer. I want to hear the Triton sounds in my MPC as I'm recording. I have the midi cable in the mpc(Midi IN) and (Midi OUT) of the Triton.But I still can't hear the Triton but the midi info registers in the mpc.

I don't have a mixer(heard it can be done without one with this set-up), computer(old and slow and mpc 4k is basically a computer itself), or speakers. I have 1 set of headphones and 1 dual unbalanced cables.

What am I doing wrong? Lionsden

You'll need a mixer or at least something with two inputs minimum. Midi does not transferee audio signals and connecting the triton to the audio input of the mpc will only allow you to sample the sound. Not too many other things I can think of that could help you out other than a mixer. If your looking to record your beats you should just bite the bullet (so to speak) and get yourself a mixer with enough channels to operate in a multitrack environment. That way you'll have channels to support all of the triton and mpc outputs as well as the return channels from your multitrack recorder. A nice mackie or soundcraft mixer should do the trick.

Would I be able to fill the (ex 16 tracks) with the mpc if I don't have the 8 audio outputs? Could I assign to different channels within the MPC? I thought the MPC have 2 outputs so you could just pan hard L/hard R in any console or mixer.

LOL no my friend, you'll need the 8 out expansion board if you want to fill up those channels. You can use panning to get the most out of a stereo signal when recording but this will not allow you to connect more than two audio signals into a single mixer at one time.
