bobbybigbeats wrote:record convention today, got the stupid records I wanted, for cheap... didn't want to buy anything other than the silly ones, those were the ones I went for... but then, some dude is selling some really really good records for really really good prices, so I had to pick up some of those, you know what I mean?

came for the thin lizzy, left with the jazz bangers...back at the chicken shack for 10 bucks? are you serious? sure, i'll take it... dude had ten dollar stickers on back at the chicken shack and the two grant green records, gave them all to me for 25 bucks. I shat myself. I mean, all I wanted was the thin lizzy homey!

ps why is thin lizzy impossible for me to find? I don't get it. I grew up with my brother having all these classic rock and metal records, and if I want to listen to them now (the ones he didn't sell or I didn't 'borrow'), it's really hard for me to find stuff that I would assume is everywhere...maybe it's just me...

yeah but anyways, usually record show people know exactly what their stuff is worth, but those two grant greens and back at the chicken shack for 25 bucks isn't something I expected... Maybe I'm an idiot, and this music sucks lol...

and note the can of green beans I put out on the floor to remind myself I can get a dollar off the $3 dollar admission, and then forgot to bring it with me, in my hungover state...

dang i'm ramblin...

pps the thin lizzy was the first record i put on when i got home

not to burst your bubble but that thin lizzy isnt a $500 record. probably around 40 - 50 clean. 100 on a really really good day.

what is that joint in the middle on the left.

um, dood, nobody said (especially me) that thin lizzy record is worth five hundred dollars...I just live in a rock town and that thin lizzy record is surprisingly hard for me to find. I paid five bucks, gladly. I just wanted to hear the title track for about the last year... If you'd like to buy it for 40-50, I'll assure it's clean lol. 100 and I'll throw in this:

go right to side D, second track... because ya...

Carl McKnight's Steel & Sweat band...steel drum calypso-tinged LA pure jammin band, pretty much straight out the box bboy bangers... Using your pricing guide, I'm pretty sure it's worth a billion dollars lol...

hahahaha 500 dollars comment was about that lialeh soundtrack...which saw a beautiful re-release by seattle's own Light in The Attic records a few years ago...probably killing those 500 dollar auctions (happily)... Check their site for other crazy releases they've made:

you said the thin lizzy record can go for 100 dollars. that, in my book, throws anything else you say regarding records pretty much out the window...coming with some fake humble approach, passive aggressive attempt which blows up in your face...you should've just come with your "little dude finds" comments right away, they would've held more weight... Instead, you will be the guy that bought a thin lizzy record for a hundred bucks.

the "little dude finds" comment is fine, I can live with that. I think grant green alive is an all-time classic in any genre, and back at the chicken shack is one of my all-time faves... and the story was good. my post wins!

still, the offer stands, I won't let this little brouhaha come between our business: I'll sell you that Thin Lizzy "Black Rose" album for 40 bucks.

I'm not trying to flex record collections on this post, just saying "hey, check it out, here are my latest record purchases." I like reading what others put up, and I like writing about my experiences... Records are cool to me.

I gotta call you out though lumin, it's required... the fact that you misread which record someone was talking about being worth 500 dollars is immaterial: you said "probably around 40 - 50 clean. 100 on a really really good day," regarding that thin lizzy album. Attacking my enthusiasm over my records isn't going to change that. ya playin yaself ya...playin yaself... I'm not afraid to tell you what I bought, classic or not, "little dude" or Big Willy BeatDigger, deuling guitars for my own nostalgia or My First Producer Bob James mardi gras you know...i'm just putting them up in this post. It's fun for me. Listen to that bobby hutcherson or that grant green record and tell me those aren't bomb as all hell...

ps the title track black rose really is banging. All these pseudo- neo- kinda-Irish drinking song bands need to listen to that song and hang it up. Game over, best irish-ey sounding jammer of all times!

im not even about to trip over some net bullshit.

about that thin lizzy. ebay is a funny animal
matter of fact, i do remember one of these joints that was on ebay.
it was this very one.
http://www.popsike.com/php/detaildata.p ... 0089106765
i seen someone pay decent money locally for a signed copy and wanted to know if he got taxed.
is that all day everyday? no. did i say that? no
i forgot the joint was signed when i said what i said about your record. i aint a **** that i cant admit that.

for real, get excited all you want. i aint catchin feelings that you said im playin myself. dont catch feelings that i said you picked up some lil dude joints.
callin me out is required? say what you gotta say. dont be a **** about it.

Alright, enough with the feud, here's some rekkids...

A note about these, I got them all for a buck, that Jonah Jones is *mint* vinyl but the damn cover has someones name on it, otherwise it would have been worth like $40. Same deal with the Neil Young & Steve Miller, in mint those are really early pressings, probably worth at least $25 mint , but that's what the salvation army gets you. That Thelma Houston, again rare pressing in mint is worth $40.

That Hubert Laws 'Undecided' is such a great song, I see myself putting together a mix with these records, add some Frankenstien, TransEuropa Express hmmmm.

The Dexter Wansel has the $, power, respect Lox sample on it, wow, that took me back.

The Cymande was pretty beat up, but had to take it anyways.

Nice break on the Freda Payne.
