Rereading the manual

Rereading , rereading, and rereading both the owner`s manual and reference manual on the train, at lunch, watching tv, waiting at the station greatly helps understand the MPC better. Of course everyone read it when they first opened the box; however, it not until pressing the buttons, and reviewing the material that everythings really sinks in. It`s true 4000 is a monster compared to the previous mpc`s, but is it still basically a sampler, sequencer and killer pads. I have to give props to lascanostra for the great tip of cracking open the manual again and again hitting every button and playing those samples with the pads with different note ons and layers.

Plus some basic midi, sequencing, and sampling books help too.

It`s true reading that manual constantly helps out alot. Afterwards damn how come I didn`t catch that the first time. I knew, but didn`t understand.

Ya reading the reference manual, I got that printed up, Im pretty much beyond that little getting started manual they gave us

I dunno why they just didnt give us the reference manual, printed, cheap asses

if anyone has used a s950 in stretch there a part that has time meaning to tighting up the stretched sound..this is the effect i get when i fiddle wit adjust.....take a drum loop and strech it 200% listen to it the take the original and stretch it again but this time turn adjust to 25 and listen to the tighter it sounds

thanks, yeah tried doing that but i really couldnt hear any difference between, the only thing was that the waveforms were less and more peaky.

im sure ur right,but the affect must be very slight on the 4000, or im going deaf...........

may depend on samples we are using, as well, but I didnt 2 much hear anything either, thats the only thing that really got me bugging, and I got the Time scretch types posted on my wall, till I can remember what to use each instance for

I wouldnt say I know it inside out, but I pretty much know what every option is for(does)

yes well we are binger0 but not the algorithim type, but what adjust does to the way the algorithim proccess the sample.

thanks ice,i just was making sure i wasnt missing anything, yeah i hear ya, its worth going though all thoose presets and working out which are best for different types of samples
