Need some help trying to recover some samples...

Ok so I used to have an AkAI s20. I made a lot of beats on it. The s20 for (those who dont know)saved on floppys. Does anybody have an idea as to how I would be able to pull these files off the disks? I tried loading them in my pc, it could not find any files and asked me to format. I tried them on my mac using a usb floppy drive. No files recognized, I tried using the usb drive on my motif, it fronze. Any clues as to what format was used? Would another model MPC be able to recognize them? Any help would be appreciated. Peace.

BTW the reason I posted on the 1000 forum is because that is where i am trying to get the files to.

My mpc2000 reads S20 floppys and recognises them as S1000 files. I have been successful in the past with "Akaidisk", a program which translates akai floppy files to wav - - but I also had a lot of problems with it and it was quite random at times...

Anyway, it's worth a try:

If that doesn't work you could give Awave Studio, ChickenSys Translator, or CDXTRACT a try.

Awave would probably do it.

Thanks for the suggestions. the first one didnt work and the awave software (which probably would work) was $$$ oh well...gotta find someone with a 2000...thanks again.

The awave download is a 30-day trial program, so unless you have 100eds of floppies you can get it done by then. The trial is fully functional.

In fact, I will give it a go myself soon, I'll even buy it if it does what I need.
