Yamaha M06 Keyboard with MPC 1000

I have a Yamaha M06 keyboard hooked up to my MPC 1000 using midi cables. I am not able to use more than one voice from the keyboard in the same sequence on the mpc. Whenever I want to use a new sound from the Yamaha M06, the previous one I used also changes. How can I use all the different sounds from my keyboard without changing those I have already used on a track?

Make midi tracks for all the tracks you want your M06 sounds to be on. And for each track on your M06, change the midi channel #. Match the M06 midi channel #'s with the ones on your MP so that way each sound has a diff midi channel number and they aren't trading midi info on the same channel. Try that and see what happens.
