is upgrading and downgrading bad for ur mpc ?

is upgrading and downgrading bad for ur mpc ?i upgraded....but then i had to downgrade back to akai os.....but i want to know,is it bad for the mpc ?does it lose memory of whatnot ?and i would alsoi like to know,do all akai mpc's come with stuff already on the internal memory ?thank you very much for your help guys

if it's any number it's probably in the tens of thousands before the flash rom would actually fail

Strictly speaking, yes it is bad for the memory, but you need to do it many many many times. The ROM is of a type called FLASH, like you get in USB memory drives, compact flash cards and suchlike.
Due to the process involved in writing and erasing information to FLASH, the memory cells will only be able to be written or erased a finite number of times. This is only really a problem if you do a lot of writes to FLASH.

Typically the *minimum* number of write cycles needed to damage a cell is at least 10,000. So I really wouldn't worry too much. In reality and depending upon what type of technology used, it is likely to be much higher than this.

The chances are some other part of the MPC circuit will fail long before the FLASH dies.
