the mpc 3000 is not overated either bro, some people like myself put value into construction and comfort, which the 3000 has. what good does all the options do if it feels like iam making a beat on a toy ( 1000 , 500 ) ??? If i wanted bells and whistles, I would make beats on a PC which i tried for 2 years and absulotely HATE!!!

didnt know they came that cheap, but its still a lot though imo. Didnt they stop making them over 10 yrs ago? I wouldnt spend over a 1000 for something that old now matter how ill the machine is.

for me its really all about sound right now. I have Reason and have been doing everything inside of reason for a few years. I never got the sound I was looking for. While it sounds ok theres just something about the crunch and crispness of vintage samplers that make me want one. I used to have a eps classic and I regret selling it.

my issue is mainly that what else can I find that will give me the sound that this machine does? it costs a lot because a lot of people want them. if i could get a mpc 1000 to sound like a 3000 id go with a 1000 all day

yeah man if money isnt a issue you good. I used reason for two years and I learned to just hate it bro, the shitty robotic swing, the thin sound, the drums you have to tweak the hell out them. the crappy sound modules...I will never use PC's for beas ever again.

I think Reason is awesome just not for the sound I want. I want gritty crisp drums. naturally distorted synths. gritty samples. and i just couldnt get that from Reason alone. So I am rebuilding my setup after 3 and a half years. Right now I only have Sonar and a Roland Juno 2 along with Reason which I still use for drums at the moment. Next on my list however is a sampler and I will save up for it if I have to.

Yeah bro nothing is cheap, I saved working overtime to able to cop without affecting my normal bills. I just finish working 1 month of mad OT to be able to save for my next purchase which i might be leaning toward a mpc 3000 ----- I want it to be the brain of my setup.

i still say anyone who is relying this heavily on the out of the box sound of the converters in their sampler for their entire sound is in need of stepping up their game AND in need of seriuos post preduction

it's one thing if it's a kazoo compared to a french horn, but this is a WHOLE different story

I have used a lot of MPC's and other gear, mostly 2500, 1000, 2000/XL, ASR-X, SP1200, 4000 (not tried the 4k so much, really not easy to get into either), and the MPC3000. After using the 2000XL for a few years I saved up and got myself a mint bearly used MPC3000LE. And the first hour I used it and made a beat with it I knew that it was worth all the hype! The 3000 makes the samples sound great, the envelopes and filter works together with the sounds perfectly, and that I have not felt that with any other MP.

It has a great sound, which very few other 16-bit samplers has (warmer than 1000, 2000 and 2500). The sequencer is the best I've ever used/heard, and the built quality and looks is -I think- the best of them all. With the new OS it has everything you need, not more or less.

If you are one of those who thirst for a 3000 to see if it's the thing you hope for, I would recommand you to try it or buy it. You will propably get what you are looking for, and if not you can sell it for the same price on ebay or this forum (most likely).

But myself and others can't tell you if it's the right or wrong machine for you, only you can find that out.

How many can say that their MPC has NEVER EVER FROZEN on you while using it? I know I could not say that about my 2000XL, which I had to turn of and on avery other beat I made or something. And my friends XL has died on him, and another one's has trouble too.

But my 3000 has NEVER EVER frozen on me, not once, it has worked 100% perfectly like it's supposed to be.

And the jog-wheel on my 3k is like new. The one's on the 2000XL, 1000 and 2500 feels very poor and jumps over numbers, and I bet those will not live to see their 10'th birthday by a daily MPC-user.

why is that? why work harder than you need to?
