Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000
By rondiesel Mon Aug 13, 2007 2:26 am
the down cursor button on my mpc 2000 has a tendency to completely stop working. other times it works fine. ive taken the white pads off of it so that i just use the raw buttons...and it still has a tendency to fail. are there any quick solutions for this?

Mine is doing the same thing, but now it's left and down.First try cleaning the switches. If that doesn't help you may have to do like me and buy new contact switches from vst or forat. You of course will need to know how to solder to replace the contact switches. Also word to the wise,If one went dead the others are probably going to go out soon aswell. It maybe took 3weeks before my left went out.

Try VST (vstservice.com) or Forat (forat.com).

Servisol switch cleaner should do fine unless the actual push button inside the mpc is worn in which case you will need to fit a new one.

Regular rubbing alcohol with a qtip works.

my down cursor button started doing the same thing. I just opened up my 2k and used a can of air to clean it. seemed to work for me, although i know that the button is on its way out. I will probabally have to change it out one day.
